Dongwon University Students Enhance English Proficiency Through Global Learning at SEGi

SEGi University welcomed eight students from Dongwon University in Busan, South Korea, for a four-week Korean Mobility Programme held in January. The programme provided participants with a balanced learning experience that combined classroom instruction with meaningful cultural and industry exposure.

Throughout the programme, students attended lessons focusing on the four core English language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The sessions were designed to strengthen their overall language proficiency while encouraging active participation, communication and practical application.

Beyond the classroom, the students took part in industry visits and educational tours that offered valuable insights into Malaysian culture and business practices. These experiences enabled them to apply their English language skills in authentic settings while gaining a deeper understanding of Malaysia’s multicultural environment.

The students demonstrated strong enthusiasm and participation throughout the programme. They contributed actively to classroom discussions, completed all assigned tasks and embraced the learning opportunities provided. Noticeable improvements were observed in their English language proficiency, communication skills and confidence over the four weeks.

Participants also appeared to enjoy their time in Malaysia, engaging positively with the activities and experiences organised throughout the programme. Their willingness to learn, interact and adapt contributed to a rewarding and memorable international experience.

At the conclusion of the programme, the students shared valuable feedback on their overall experience. Their suggestions have been carefully considered and are being incorporated into the planning and delivery of future mobility programmes to further enhance the learning experience for incoming participants.
