Dr Nor Azian has over 30 years of experience at secondary and tertiary educational levels as a teacher, researcher, manager and consultant. Her professional training and research has been in the areas of Educational Psychology, Curriculum and Instruction, Teacher Professional Development, and Educational Psychology Program Development.
She established the Student Learning Enhancement Unit (SLEU), a unit under the purview of the Deputy Rector (Academic and Research) International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). The unit specializes in the improvement of student academic performance through the enhancement of motivation and learning efficiency skills.
She was also involved in educational research and consultancy work in a number of areas including psychology consultancy in children environmental study, and provided pre- school educational training and teacher professional development to the Malaysian public.
She has taught Educational Psychology, General Teaching Methodology and Curriculum related courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has facilitated workshops at public and private schools and institutions on Educational Psychology topics such as student-centered teaching, motivating students, test construction, curriculum development, and general teaching methodology. She has presented academic papers at local and international conferences. She is fluent in speaking and writing in the English Language. She was a team leader in organizing and preparing the documentation and presentation to the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) panelists in applying for their approval of academic programs.
