Yoon joined SEGi University in 2020. She was a lecturer at Universiti Malaysia Sabah from 2011 to 2015. She was also appointed as the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) Coordinator at UMS from 2013 to 2015. She received the Excellence Service Award in 2015 for outstanding contributions in teaching, research, and community work. Yoon also taught in the School of Languages and Linguistics, The University of Melbourne
from 217 to 2019. She has taught undergraduate and masters programs to students of diverse backgrounds. Yoon is very involved in blended learning. She has participated in national and institutional level policy-making, professional development, and training of trainer programs. Yoon is also active in research. She has contributed as a leader and co-researcher to several research including a UNICEF project to evaluate alternative education programs for refugee children and a collaboration with a Vietnamese university. She has also participated in several community projects to improve disadvantaged children’s access to quality education. Yoon is also an avid contributor to the scholarly community. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and has served as a reviewer for conferences and journals.
