Prof. Dr. Gurnam Kaur Sidhu is currently the Deputy Dean (Postgraduate and Research) and a Professor of Teaching and Learning attached to the Faculty of Education, SEGi University, Malaysia. She obtained her academic and professional qualifications from University of Malaya and is a multi-disciplinarian with a PhD in TESL and Educational Management & Leadership. Besides that, she also possesses a Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood (TESOL) and a B.A (Hons) in English Literature. She has more than 40 years of experience in academic and educational management positions. Prior to joining SEGi, she was attached as a Professor at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) where she was the Director of the Asian Centre for Research on University Learning and Teaching (ACRULeT). She has also served as a Research Fellow at University of Hertfordshire, UK. Gurnam has contributed her expertise to a few divisions at the Ministry of Education, Malaysia from 1990s – 2016. Been a panel member on the distinguished English Language Standards and Quality Council (ELSQC) she contributed to The English Language Education Reform: The Roadmap (2015-2025) for the Ministry of Education, Malaysia. A recipient of numerous merits of teaching excellence, she has presented research papers at both local and international conferences. Gurnam is a passionate researcher with numerous research grants under her belt. She is well published, having served as Chief Editor for a few journals. She has also received numerous innovation medals and awards in teaching and learning. Finally, Prof. Gurnam is often sought out as a speaker and educational consultant for various educational activities.
