SEGi University successfully hosted students from the University of Business and Science (UBS) for a Student Mobility Programme held from 11 to 16 May 2026.Designed to provide academic enrichment, practical exposure and cultural immersion, the programme introduced participants to innovative teaching and learning practices in the health sciences. It also created opportunities for students to strengthen their intercultural understanding and experience university life in Malaysia.
The programme began with the students’ arrival, accommodation check-in and a welcome briefing. This was followed by a welcome ceremony and guided campus tour, during which participants were introduced to SEGi University’s academic facilities, learning environment and student amenities.
Throughout the programme, students took part in a series of workshops conducted by the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (FOMNHS). The sessions covered a range of academic and practical areas, including the transportation of gases, lung ventilation and perfusion, communicative activities, respiratory physiology, dental practice, cultural immersion and histology.
The workshops combined theoretical learning with practical and hands-on activities, enabling participants to deepen their understanding of health science concepts while developing essential laboratory, communication and problem-solving skills.
Beyond the academic sessions, students participated in a cultural excursion to Central Market, also known as Pasar Seni. The visit offered them an opportunity to experience Malaysia’s multicultural heritage, interact with the local community and gain a deeper appreciation of the country’s traditions and cultural diversity.
The programme concluded with a farewell lunch and closing ceremony, where certificates of participation were presented to the students. Participants and faculty members expressed their appreciation for the meaningful academic exchange, collaborative learning opportunities and cultural experiences gained throughout the programme.
Overall, the Student Mobility Programme achieved its objectives of enhancing students’ academic knowledge, practical laboratory skills, intercultural competence and international outlook. It also strengthened the partnership between the University of Business and Science and SEGi University, paving the way for future collaboration in education, research and student exchange.
