Gold and Silver Awards for SEGi at IIICe 2024

SEGi University recently made a significant impact at the International Innovation & Invention Competition 2024 (IIICe 2024), held on August 5, 2024, at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) in Batu Pahat, Johor. The event brought together innovators and researchers to present groundbreaking projects in engineering, science, and technology, fostering knowledge sharing and collaborative advancements. SEGi’s participation in this prestigious competition underscored its commitment to providing quality education and promoting innovation, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).

Among the remarkable achievements at the event was Sean Eddry Bin Effie Rizal, the President of SEGi’s Student Representative Council (SRC), who secured the prestigious Gold Award for his project, “Integrated Smart Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Mobile Application.” Sean’s project, which also earned him the Special Award from the IEEE Malaysia ComSoc/VTS Joint Chapter, demonstrated his exceptional skills in software engineering and his commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions.

Sharifah Jasmin Shahabudin Binti Syed Mohd Yohan, another SEGi student, also won the Gold Award for her pioneering project, “Study on the Impact of Web Development on Dyslexic Students.” Her work highlighted the intersection of technology and education, making significant contributions to the field of inclusive education. Additionally, Thananya Hiew, a talented software engineering student, received the Silver Award for her innovative project, “Smart Clothes Drying System with Weather Forecasting Prediction,” showcasing her ability to blend technology with everyday practical solutions.

These accomplishments reflect SEGi University’s dedication to nurturing talent and fostering innovation that addresses real-world challenges. The success of these students not only highlights their individual brilliance but also showcases SEGi’s role in driving academic excellence and contributing to the global goals of sustainability and innovation.
