SEGi University Dean Contributes to Global AI Dialogue at “Artificial Intelligence and the Future World Forum”

Ir. Assoc. Prof. Dr Tan Yong Chai, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology at SEGi University, recently participated as a distinguished panellist at the “Artificial Intelligence and the Future World Forum” held in Kuala Lumpur. This high-profile event, organised by Tsinghua University and supported by prominent organisations like MOSTI and the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, brought together experts to discuss the transformative potential of AI across various sectors, with a particular focus on education.

Dr Tan shared his insights on the integration of AI in future education models, emphasising the need to reshape traditional approaches to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between universities and industry leaders, citing examples like Zhipu AI, iFlytek, MIMOS, and Plus Xnergy, who could partner with institutions like Tsinghua University and SEGi University to drive innovation in AI education.

The forum explored key themes surrounding AI’s role in education, including:

  • Innovative Teaching Concepts and Methods: Experts discussed how AI can facilitate personalised learning experiences, adaptive assessments, and intelligent tutoring systems to cater to individual student needs.
