A delegation from SEGi University, comprising Prof. Dr. Geetha Subramaniam and three PhD students, made their mark at the 12th IIMS International Conference held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from October 25th to 27th, 2024. The conference, organised by the International Institute of Management Sciences and hosted by The Royal University of Law and Economics, focused on the timely theme of “Artificial Intelligence and Society: Adoption, Implementation, and Regulation.”
The SEGi students, all from the Faculty of Education, Languages, Psychology and Music, stood out as the only postgraduate student presenters among nearly 110 participants from seven countries. Their research, focusing on critical issues in educational management within the context of AI and society, garnered praise from panelists for its relevance, insightful analysis, and clear articulation.
Zhu Dan presented on “Institution Factors and Teacher Turnover Intention in Private Higher Education Institutions in China,” Liang Aiping explored the “Effect of Social Support on Academic Performance of EFL Undergraduates in Sichuan, China,” and Wei Yun examined “Female Teacher Burnout in HEIs in Jiangxi, China using the Job Demands-Resources Model.”
Panelists commended the students for their ability to connect their research findings to the conference theme, highlighting the significance of their work in addressing current challenges in education. The students’ impressive presentations and insightful discussions reflected SEGi University’s commitment to fostering research excellence and providing a platform for students to contribute to global academic discourse.
