The SEGi Dental Society (SDS) Excursion was held successfully on 29 October 2022. Approximately 180 staff and students of the Faculty of Dentistry attended the annual excursion event.
The objectives of the event were to encourage the staff and students to work together as a team, to welcome the new Year One students and help them to assimilate into the faculty, develop critical thinking, build a strong bond between batches, lecturers and support staff, and most importantly release stress by participating in some fun physical activities and challenges.
At 9:20 am, the SDS Advisor, Assoc. Prof. Datuk Dr. Rozaidah Talib delivered the opening speech. After that, Dr. Nicole, a representative from Toastmasters Club gave a short speech regarding the club.
This was followed by a fun Zumba exercise led by Year 3 students and an ice-breaking session. At 10:30 am, 11 game groups were formed to participate in the nine station games – Dodgeball, Pictionary, Cup stacking game, Tug of war, Hangman, Helium stick, Balloon race, Charades and Riddles. Each game lasted between five to 15 minutes.
At 12:40 pm, light lunch was distributed to the participants and prizes were awarded to the top three groups and the best batch. The group with the highest score was Group 7, followed by Group 5 and Group 3. The Best Batch Award went to Year 5.
