Her commitment to the field was further exemplified when she hosted the Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC) Conference in Penang, Malaysia, a gathering that brought together over 500 participants from 48 countries to address the urgency of investing in early childhood education. Supported by UNESCO, UNICEF, and SEGi University & Colleges, the conference underscored the critical role of ECD in building climate resilience and fostering sustainable development.

A strong advocate for policy reform and academic excellence, Prof. Datin Mariani has made significant strides in ensuring quality education, child welfare, and greater governmental investment in early childhood programmes.
