SEGi Partners with 16 Indonesian Universities for Global Impact

SEGi University formalised a transformative partnership with 16 leading Indonesian universities through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), setting the stage for collaborative academic and research initiatives. This partnership demonstrates SEGi’s dedication to advancing education in Southeast Asia by fostering meaningful connections that transcend borders.

The event, witnessed by embassy representatives from Zambia, reflects the growing recognition of SEGi as a key player in international education. The participating institutions include renowned names such as Universitas Trisakti, Trisakti School of Management, and Universitas Sari Mulia. By joining forces with these universities, SEGi aims to facilitate cross-border knowledge-sharing, student mobility programmes, and joint research projects that address regional and global challenges. These efforts are directly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly Quality Education (4), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (9), and Partnerships for the Goals (17).

Indonesia, with its rich cultural diversity and a population exceeding 275 million, has seen a steady rise in tertiary enrolment rates, according to UNESCO, with over 38% of youth now pursuing higher education. This trend underscores the country’s commitment to building a skilled workforce that drives innovation and economic growth. Through this collaboration, SEGi is poised to complement Indonesia’s efforts by providing platforms for academic exchange and nurturing future-ready graduates.

As a leading education provider, SEGi continually seeks opportunities to expand its network across ASEAN countries. This MOU not only strengthens ties between Malaysia and Indonesia but also underscores SEGi’s vision of developing holistic, globally competent individuals equipped to tackle pressing global challenges. By leveraging collective expertise, SEGi and its partners aim to deliver impactful solutions that resonate across industries and communities.

This agreement marks another milestone in SEGi’s commitment to sustainable development. Beyond academic exchanges, the partnerships will explore research addressing sustainable practices and innovative technologies, ensuring long-term benefits for both nations. This initiative reflects SEGi’s broader goal of fostering collaborations that inspire progress, empower communities, and create a more inclusive future.

This event is organised in support of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
