Professor Alex Chong, Post Graduate Taught Course Director at the University of Nottingham, will visit SEGi University in Malaysia on 22 March 2023, for a partnership discussion. SEGi University provides a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
During the visit, Prof. Chong met with SEGi’s Faculty of Engineering, Business, and IT’s Dean, Ir. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tan Yong Chai, Research Cluster Head, Dr. Nurulazlina Ramli, and Senior Lecturer, Chris Chong. The University of Nottingham is interested in exploring potential collaboration opportunities with SEGi University in research, student exchange programs, and joint academic initiatives.
Dr. Tan Yong Chai of SEGi University expressed excitement about the potential partnership, saying, “We are thrilled to have this opportunity to explore potential areas of collaboration with the University of Nottingham, which has an excellent reputation for academic excellence and research.” The potential partnership could facilitate the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and resources between the two institutions, resulting in new research opportunities and improved education.
According to the 2022 QS World University Rankings, Nottingham is ranked among the top 100 universities in the world, while SEGi University has consistently been ranked among Malaysia’s top private universities. The collaboration could provide substantial benefits to both parties. Prof. Chong’s visit was part of Nottingham’s ongoing efforts to expand global partnerships and collaborations.
