You need to apply for our library membership at our circulation counter, please make sure your student card is valid(not expired), our counter team will assist you.
We're sorry to inform you that student ID card is compulsory for all transaction in Library.
The facility is open to our existing library members. You can either make an advance booking or on-the-spot booking, which depend on the availability of the rooms, at our circulation counter.
We allow each group of students to use a maximum of one slot (3 hours) in a day.
Minimum 2 people and maximum 4 people can use the Think Tank room at one time. Quantity of people may change from time to time depending on current situation.
We are sorry to inform you that Think Tank room reservation must be done at our counter.
We have black and white as well as color printing and photocopying services. You need to have a printing card in order to use the printing machine. The printing card can be purchase at Bursary.
We have short term and long term rental types, please approach our counter for more details.
- FAQ : Borrowing, Renewing & Reservation
You can borrow 5 books at 1 time;
Undergraduate student; 1 short-term loan (red spot) for 1 day, and 4 normal loan books for 14 days.
For a postgraduate student; 1 short-term loan(red spot) for 7 days and 4 normal books for a 30 days.
You can find a book by using our Online Public Access Catalogue https://librarycatalogue.segi.edu.my/ by searching the title, subject, or author. Once you have identify the needed book, note down the call numbers of the titles. You can locate the books on the shelf using the call number.
We're sorry to inform you that green spot or reference materials are meant to refer in the library not for borrowing.
Renewals can be done by dropping your request via email, phone call, online, or directly at the counter.
For all library items can be renewed for one times only.
You need to log in to your library account via https://librarycatalogue.segi.edu.my/ . Once you have logged in, select the items you want to renew by ticking the selection box next to each item and then click the Renew button. If your items have been successfully renewed, you will see the new due date for the item. Kindly renew your item before the due date.
You can only place ‘Holds’ for items that are on loan so you will be the next in line to borrow them. Items with the status ‘Available’ cannot be reserved. Hold requests be placed online via the https://librarycatalogue.segi.edu.my/ . In the "Items" view, click the "Place Holds" button next to the item you would like to hold and tick the box, select the Pick up location and click on ‘Confirm hold”. Reserved items will be held at the Circulation Counter for 3 days after which the item becomes available. Be sure to check your request status in your library account. Request status will change from "Pending" to "Available Pick-up" when the item is available. If you do not claim the item within 3 days, the item will be returned to the shelves and can be borrowed by others.
When books on loan are not returned by the due date, fines will be imposed after the due date of the book, approach counter for more details.
Magazine are not allowed to borrow out.
Thesis and Dissertation collection cannot be borrowed because they are reference materials and can only be used within the library area only.
- FAQ : Lost item procedure
Please report the lost/damaged/stolen items immediately and note the following:
- Patron will be given times to search for the lost books.
- If the book is overdue on the date when the report is made, our circulation counter will help to stop the fines from accumulating.
- Once patron confirmed the lost items cannot be found, patron can settle the total lost item penalty, which include doubles of the book cost, overdue fines (if any) and the processing fee.
- Please note that you will be not exempted from lost penalty for stolen items.
