Borrow & Return

Accessing Physical Materials

We have restarted access to our physical collections, and you can drop a request for physical materials borrowing at SUKD Library and SCKD Library.

Contactless borrowing & returning

Tell us what the book titles you want to borrow using the online Pick n Go form, and we will communicate with you the pickup time and locations.

Physical materials will be available for pickup at a scheduled time and scanned material will be emailed
to you.

  1. Book pickup is by request only. Submit your requests through Pick n Go form, please ensure you have a valid student tag (not expired) before submitting your request.
  2. Library will contact you to confirm the availability of the books requested and the pick-up details.
  3. Books will be reserved for three days only and return to shelf if no reply received.
  1. We will check out the requested books under your account upon your arrival at the pick-up location.
  2. Our team will send down the books and you need to show your valid student tag and the check-out notice received from our system. 
  3. You can renew the books for one time via your library account or email the library. Please return the books timely to avoid any unnecessary charges.
  1. You can return library books at designated locations. Please email us your book return requests and we will contact you shortly.
  2. Upon your arrival, call us at 03-61451758 (SUKD) or 03-61459811 (SCKD) to inform us about your book return. Our team will collect the books and clear your borrowing records.
  1. Most due dates for borrowed items have been extended. If you are graduating or leaving your faculty position, please contact us.
  2. Do check your due date and renew books using your online library account by login to https://librarycatalogue.segi.edu.my/

Our Pick n Go borrowing service allows you to pick up and return books while safely maintaining distance from others.

  •  To use this service, you need to complete the form to request library books you need for borrowing. Please ensure you have a valid student ID (not expired) before submitting your request.
  • Library will contact you to confirm the availability of the books requested and the pick-up location, in return, please provide us the pick-up date.
  • Books will be reserved three days and return to shelf if no reply received.
  • We will check out the requested books under your account provided upon your arrival at the pick-up location.
  • Library team members will send down the books and you need to show your valid student ID and the check-out notice received from our system.

Not sure where to start your research? Stuck somewhere along the way?

The Library provides literacy workshop to the students and lecturers upon requests. Additionally, individual training is also available.

  • The objective is to help the students to acquire the skill of becoming information literate that will guide and support their learning as well as research needs.
  • Session will be conducted hands-on for 1-2 hours according to selected modules. We will spend around 1-2 hours for hands-on tips & skills with you.
  • Faculties are encouraged to arrange the session for their students, especially those who are doing literature searches for their research.
  • The depth and breadth of the content will be justified according to our audience or upon your request.

Connect to Library Online Resources

Most of our online resources are seamlessly accessed from any devices within the campus network, outside campus and even while you’re abroad.

However, access to most of these resources is restricted to authorised users, including our students and faculty members, due to license agreements with vendors/ publishers. Therefore, connecting to these databases must go through Blackboard.

Connecting to E-Library in Blackboard Institution Page, you need to have your Blackboard login ready.

Contact your Faculty or Blackboard Support Team if:

  • You have not received your Blackboard login
  • You have problem when using your Blackboard login
  1. Login to Blackboard via https://segi2u.blackboard.com/. Enter your username and password and click Sign In.
  1. You will be redirected to your Blackboard Home Page. On the left panel, click on Institution Page on top then scroll down to E-Library.
  1. Click Show All option available at the right bottom of the section to browse on all subscribed databases.
  1. Scroll up/down to choose the suitable database for your topic

To access E-Library via our Blackboard, follow the simple steps below:

  1. Visit the portal and search for each database under the ‘Institution Page’ tab.
  2. To find the best resources for your topic, you might want to go directly to a specific database by selecting from the list of databases for specialised resources.
  3. Once you have selected a database, use the keywords identified in your planning stage to search for your topic.
