Innovative Project by SEGi University’s BEE Students Wins Two Awards at ESTE’23

SEGi University’s Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and IT has recently achieved remarkable success at the Engineering, Science & Technology Exhibition 2023 (ESTE’23) hosted by MAHSA University on 16 Feb 2023.

The goal of ESTE’23 is to allow students to hone their research, design, and innovation skills in a multidisciplinary environment related to engineering, science, and technology. The competition was fierce, but two final-year SEGi University BEE (Bachelor of Electrical & Electronics Engineering) students stood out.

Ali Anwar Mohammed Mohsen Al-Gailani and Amgad Mohammed Abduljabbar Al-Dubai presented their innovative IDP project titled ‘IOT-Based Smart Energy Meter Monitoring with Theft Detection. They impressed the judges by winning two awards in the group category, the Gold Award and the Special Award.

This is a fantastic accomplishment for SEGi’s Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment, and IT, which is dedicated to producing graduates who can make a difference in the real world. The success of these students demonstrates the high quality of education provided by the faculty and the dedication of their supervisors, Chris Chong Hock Siong and Dr Nurulazlina Ramli.

Overall, this is a tremendous accomplishment that reflects the faculty’s dedication to excellence in engineering, the built environment, and information technology. Ali Anwar Mohammed Mohsen Al-Gailani, Amgad Mohammed Abduljabbar Al-Dubai, and their supervisors deserve congratulations for their outstanding achievements.
