On 24 July 2024, a vibrant environmental initiative took place at Cyberjaya Lake Park, where participants came together for the Cyberjaya Landscaping Project, organised by Elite Growers Group in collaboration with the Society for Environmental Restoration (SER). This event, which aimed to enhance the park’s environment through tree planting and landscaping, saw 33 enthusiastic participants contributing to the beautification of the area and promoting community engagement.
The event began with a brief refreshment session provided by an NGO, followed by an insightful briefing by Dr. Ng from SER. The participants were then divided into three groups, each tasked with specific landscaping duties. Group 1 was responsible for identifying plant species such as Malaysia Hanguana, Ferox, Purun, and Bemban, transporting them to their designated planting locations. Group 2 focused on cleaning the nursery ground by clearing dead leaves and ensuring the soil drainage was maintained. Group 3 worked on preparing the selected planting areas, digging holes, and relocating plants that were previously placed in unsuitable spots.
The landscaping activities were completed in just two hours, leaving the park looking more pristine and inviting. As the event concluded, Dr. Ng provided a summary and expressed gratitude to the participants for their efforts, while also thanking them for their active involvement in making Cyberjaya a greener, more sustainable place.
