SEGi University strengthened its global academic footprint with the launch of a Faculty Exchange Program in collaboration with KPR College of Arts, Science & Research, India. Held from 24-28 August 2024 in Coimbatore, this initiative fostered cross-border knowledge exchange, bringing together faculty expertise and innovative learning experiences for students. The partnership underscores the commitment to global academic collaboration, ensuring students and faculty gain insights into international industry standards, research advancements, and interdisciplinary learning.
The program featured a distinguished workshop by Dr. Stephen Sesaiah, Dean of FOBAL at SEGi University, on Cross-Border Chronicles: The Legal Odyssey of International Business Jurisdictions. Addressing an audience of over 300 postgraduate students, the session explored the intricate legal frameworks governing global commerce, highlighting the importance of jurisdictional awareness and compliance in today’s interconnected economy. As artificial intelligence, fintech, and digital trade reshape business landscapes, legal literacy in these areas is increasingly critical, with global compliance-related spending expected to exceed $278 billion by 2027.
The exchange programme further solidified SEGi’s role in international academia through prestigious adjunct faculty appointments. Recognising their contributions, three SEGi lecturers—Ravindaran Seniasamy (Accounting), Lavania Ramakrishnan (Law), and Dr. Dineswary Nadarajan—were appointed as adjunct faculty at KPR College, reinforcing the commitment to building sustainable academic networks. These appointments allow SEGi faculty to influence curriculum development, mentor students, and enhance research capabilities at an international level.
Beyond faculty appointments, SEGi lecturers led specialised workshops, sharing expertise on global accounting standards, comparative legal frameworks, and advanced research methodologies. These sessions provided students with critical perspectives on international financial systems, cross-border legal challenges, and data-driven research strategies—areas that are increasingly shaping industries worldwide. With over 70% of companies now integrating AI-driven financial compliance systems, workshops like these prepare students for a rapidly evolving job market.
This exchange programme represents a major milestone in SEGi’s ongoing efforts to foster international research collaborations and global academic excellence. Such initiatives prepare students and faculty to engage with complex global challenges, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge required for the future of education and industry. The collaboration between SEGi and KPR College signals the beginning of a long-term partnership dedicated to academic growth, professional development, and meaningful research.
