In the world of venture capital, clean energy, and cross-border digital ecosystems, few Malaysian names resonate quite like Henry Chong. A distinguished graduate of SEGi University & Colleges, Henry is now one of the region’s rising business leaders — leading bold ventures at the intersection of sustainability, innovation, and global investment.
Henry Chong currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Star Future Energy Sdn Bhd, a company he launched in 2021 with a mission to champion clean energy and sustainable solutions across Southeast Asia. He also holds the position of Managing Director at Great Ocean Guoxin (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, a company involved in digital innovation and investment partnerships within the ASEAN–China corridor.
His education in Psychology and International Business at SEGi, followed by postgraduate studies in Economics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in Germany, equipped him with a rare combination of strategic thinking, behavioural insight, and global perspective — all of which are essential for navigating the fast-evolving demands of the regional business landscape.
With more than three personal investments and four current board and advisory roles, Henry plays a pivotal role in shaping Southeast Asia’s emerging economic clusters. His investment portfolio includes ventures in blockchain, digital payments, luxury retail, and fintech — including pre-seed funding for Great Ocean Guoxin (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Switzerland Jewelry Watch Shop, as well as participation in Guoxin Investment Group’s USD $5 million Private Equity round.
As of today, Henry sits on the board or advisory panels of multiple organisations, including:
- Star Future Energy Sdn Bhd (Director)
- Guoxin Huangjia Ziben Julebu (Investment Advisor)
- Plein Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Director)
- Fiscal Capital Resources (Management)
Operating from Kuala Lumpur, his impact spans the entire Asia-Pacific (APAC) and ASEAN regions. His contributions are particularly important in the drive to mobilise capital for climate action, sustainable energy adoption, and digital infrastructure expansion — all of which are key priorities under Malaysia’s national development agenda.
As global economies shift towards sustainable and digitised futures, alumni like Henry exemplify what is possible with a solid educational foundation and a commitment to regional progress. His continued success reflects the increasing influence of SEGi graduates in real-world economic transformation — especially in sectors where innovation meets purpose.
