ESTE’23: SEGi University students make mark in engineering and technology

The Faculty of Engineering & Built Environment at MAHSA University hosted the Engineering, Science & Technology Exhibition 2023 (ESTE’23) on August 16, 2023, marking a dynamic event. The central aim of this exhibition was to nurture and amplify students’ skills in research, design, and innovation, spanning diverse interdisciplinary fields within engineering, science, and technology. This event served as a platform for students to not only present their expertise and research efforts but also to engage in knowledge sharing, thereby collaboratively advancing the frontiers of engineering, science, and technology.

Participating students showcased their research projects through posters and prototypes, drawing enthusiastic engagement from prominent institutions such as MAHSA University, SEGi University, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Sunway University, and UCSI University. A total of 105 students occupied 76 distinct booths, subjecting their work to rigorous evaluation by external industry experts from organizations like Sime Darby, KNX Training, and Cement Industries of Malaysia Berhad (CIMA). Esteemed academic partners from UiTM, UTHM, Sunway University, UCSI University, and SEGi University also played pivotal roles in the assessment process.

Highlighting the exceptional achievements, Addin Sufi emerged as a standout participant. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours (BME) at SEGi University, Addin secured the prestigious Gold Award. His remarkable accomplishment resulted from his project titled “Five Axis CNC Milling Machine Programming Using Tool Plane Orientation Strategy to Perform Porting Process for Motorcycle Engine Head.” This noteworthy endeavor, conducted under the expert guidance of Ts. Najmi Haziq garnered well-deserved acclaim.

Equally commendable is the achievement of Sara Hany, a talented student pursuing a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering with Honours (BEE) at SEGi University. Sara earned the Bronze Award for her project, titled “Real-Time Smart Infants Health Monitoring System.” This innovative project, developed under the mentorship of Noor Farhana Halil made significant contributions to the field.

We extend our warmest congratulations to these accomplished individuals for their outstanding achievements during this exhibition. Their unwavering commitment and inventive abilities truly exemplify the essence of academic excellence.
