SEGi Dental Futsal team are the champions of the National Dental Intervarsity Games 2022 Futsal competition held on 18 & 19 June, at MAHSA University Futsal Court, Bandar Saujana Putra campus, Selangor.
13 male futsal teams took part in the event. SEGi Dental Futsal team comprises dental students from Year 1 to Year 5, which includes the captain, Ashvin A/L Sivakumar, Nantha Kumar A/L Udaya Surian, Muhammad Aqil Khairuddin, Lohendran A/L Balachandran, Reveen Thiagarajah, Ibrahim Magdi Ahmed Mahdi, Bassam Obied, Abdirahman Yussuf, Mohammed Zaid Umarji and Usama Ahmed Omar.
The Dean of SEGi Faculty of Dentistry Dato’ Prof. Dr Ahmad Termizi Zamzuri, was there to support and cheer for the team.
SEGi Dental Futsal team spent two months juggling between their busy academic schedule and training for the competition.
Their hard work has paid off, with the team winning their group matches and qualifying for the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, the SEGi Dental Futsal team defeated MAHSA University 5-1, solidifying their place in the finals against International Islamic University Malaysia.
At the end of the thrilling finals match, SEGi Dental Futsal team won with a score of 2-0, bagging the trophy. Congratulations SEGi Dental Futsal team!
