For three consecutive years, SEGi University’s Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences professor and head of preclinical sciences, Prof. Dr. Rebecca Wong Shin Yee has been named among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University. This is the third time the professor of physiology has her name appear in the Single-Year achievement category for the field of clinical medicine since 2020.
According to Stanford University’s report released in October 2022. Prof. Wong is also among the top researchers listed in the Career-Long achievement category, competing with top scientists worldwide.
“Compared to the more experienced scientists; I have a relatively shorter publication history that started since 2010. Therefore, I am truly honoured to be listed in the Career-Long category as well, together with some of the top senior scientists in the world,” said Prof. Wong in a statement.
In Malaysia, there are 660 scientists listed in the Single Year category and 296 scientists listed in the Career-Long category for all fields. On the other hand, only 251 Malaysian scientists are listed in both categories. Prof. Wong feels honoured to be one of them.
“I will continue to work hard to reach greater heights,” Prof. Wong expressed.
