SEGi University students passed their international contact lens exam with flying colours

17 students from batch 15 of the Bachelor of Optometry programme successfully completed their International Association of Contact Lens Educators (IACLE)’ Student Trial Exam (STE) with a proud 100% pass rate in the August exam sitting. The STE is actually the student version of the real examination that fellows undertake later in the year. These students were awarded their certificate in a VIRTUAL Certificate Presentation ceremony held on the 30th of September 2021.

The ceremony began with a welcome address by Professor Azrin E Ariffin, Dean of FOVS and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Students Affairs) at SEGi University, Malaysia. The Guest of Honor, Professor Philip B. Morgan, the IACLE President then gave the opening address which was followed by the Virtual Certificate presentation. Ms Jess Ooi from Oculus Malaysia also congratulated the students and presented the Oculus Ortho-K trial contact lens set to the top 5 students as courtesy of Oculus. There was a tie for the fifth position.
