SEGi University’s Faculty of Business, Accountancy, and Law (FOBAL) took a bold step into the future of education with Content Vantage, a dynamic co-curricular event held on 19 March 2025. Organised at Auditorium A, the event brought together students, professionals, and digital content creators in a powerful exchange of ideas, strategies, and real-world skills essential for the evolving digital economy.
In line with SEGi’s mission to produce future-ready graduates, Content Vantage was designed to equip students with critical competencies in digital content creation—skills that are increasingly indispensable across all industries. The initiative aligns closely with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, by promoting inclusive and equitable access to lifelong learning opportunities, and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by enhancing youth employability through practical, market-relevant skills.
Hosted in partnership with the SEGi Entrepreneurship and Business Club (SEBC) and the SEGi Hobby Club, and sponsored by SEGi Waterfest 2025 and Woodwiz Conceptual, the event served as a collaborative platform to inspire and empower SEGi students through hands-on knowledge sharing.
The forum-style event featured three high-profile speakers from Malaysia’s content and creative industry:
-
JC Cheah, AIFM Radio DJ and multilingual emcee, shared expert insights on building a distinctive personal brand and navigating the social media ecosystem with creativity and authenticity.
-
Jason Goh (Smashpop), a celebrated content creator with over 148,000 YouTube subscribers, broke down his video production process, offering practical tips on workflow management and the art of storytelling through visuals.
-
Wei How, representing the voice of Gen Z, discussed how aspiring creators can craft personalised content strategies that align with their values, skills, and long-term goals.
Throughout the afternoon, students participated in engaging discussions on content strategy, niche development, digital transformation, and career adaptability—highlighting the growing demand for digital literacy and entrepreneurial thinking in today’s job market.
The event also underscored SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, by fostering innovation in digital communication, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by creating collaborative opportunities between students, industry experts, and educational institutions.
Behind the scenes, Content Vantage was brought to life through the leadership of Tan Yip Loke (Project Director) and Siaw Hong Seng (Vice Project Director), supported by a committed team of student organisers. The programme was expertly emceed by Jayshon Lim Chia Her, with advisory support from Dr. William Tan Wei Yet, Ms. Mah Wai Lam, and Mr. Vincent Ng Zhi Lun.
As the digital world continues to transform how we communicate, work, and connect, SEGi University remains steadfast in its commitment to equipping students with the tools they need to thrive—inside and outside the classroom. Events like Content Vantage exemplify SEGi’s dedication to developing globally competent graduates who are not only academically strong but also agile, innovative, and industry-relevant.
