Thousands Experienced SEGi’s Spectacular Game On Expo 2024

SEGi University & Colleges recently held its 3rd annual Game On Expo 2024 – Built For Glory – Game On – It Lies Within, which brought in a large crowd of visitors over the weekend.

The event was a big hit, offering a wide range of activities like gaming tournaments, K-pop dance cover contests, workshops, and performances. With the support of 41 sponsors and 13 companies hosting booths, the event showcased SEGi’s dedication to creating an exciting and engaging student experience.

The standout moment of the expo was the intense Honor of Kings tournament, where 32 groups battled it out. In the end, Sem 9 emerged as the champions, taking home the top prize of RM1,500. Ace Gaming snagged the first runner-up spot with RM1,000, while Deep To Hide secured the second runner-up position with RM500. Participants from various states across Malaysia, like Johor, Penang, and Melaka, added to the event’s national appeal.

The K-pop Dance Cover Competition was another crowd favourite, with 21 groups showcasing their talents. This not only provided entertainment but also promoted cultural appreciation and unity among participants and spectators. SEGi’s focus on such inclusive activities reflects its broader educational goal of nurturing well-rounded individuals.

Moreover, attendees enjoyed a Mamee Cupbap Workshop, a VR Challenge, and the GoXuan K-pop Day Random Dance, among other engaging activities. The diverse lineup ensured there was something for everyone, enhancing the overall experience for all participants. The inclusion of these varied activities highlights SEGi’s commitment to holistic education and student involvement.

In total, lucky draw prizes totalling up to RM100,000 were given out, adding an extra element of excitement and anticipation to the event. This generous giveaway underscored SEGi’s dedication to rewarding and motivating student engagement.

In line with our Industry into Classroom initiative, this event provided students with valuable hands-on experience in organising and running such an event. By collaborating closely with industry partners, students gained practical skills that bridge academic learning with real-world applications.

SEGi’s Game On Expo 2024 wasn’t just about having fun; it also supported the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event promoted quality education, fostered partnerships to achieve these goals, and encouraged sustainable development within the community.
