Elevating Expertise through Comprehensive Dental Implant Course 2023

SEGi University’s Faculty of Dentistry (FoD) has taken a bold step forward in advancing dental education through a collaborative effort with Megagen Malaysia. The result is the Comprehensive Dental Implant Course 2023, a multifaceted programme designed to enrich the skills and knowledge of dental professionals. This comprehensive initiative is divided into four modules, each curated to delve into specific aspects of dental implantology.

Module 1, a pivotal segment of the course on 29 – 30 July, focused on Diagnosis, Treatment Plan, and Surgical Protocol. Renowned in the field, Dr Haydar Majeed Mahdey led the session, providing participants with insights into the critical aspects of implant dentistry. The attendees, comprising six resident dentists from Klang Valley, Selangor, and one from the Faculty, were immersed in an intensive learning experience.

Module 2 continued the educational journey on 19 – 20 August. This module delved into Implant Prosthetics and the Management of Complications, offering a comprehensive understanding of the intricate aspects of dental implant procedures. Assoc Prof Dr Eshamsul, a distinguished expert in the field, was at the helm of Module 2, ensuring that participants gained a profound grasp of implant prosthetics.

An added highlight of Module 2 was the inclusion of a live surgery demonstration by Dr Haydar. This interactive element not only enriched the theoretical knowledge imparted during the session but also provided a real-world glimpse into the practical aspects of dental implant procedures.

The participant feedback from both Module 1 and Module 2 has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the success and effectiveness of the course. The knowledge gained during these modules has undoubtedly enhanced the participants’ proficiency in dental implantology, empowering them to implement advanced techniques in their clinical practice.

The journey doesn’t end here, as the excitement builds for the upcoming Modules 3 and 4, scheduled for November and December of this year. These modules promise to explore further nuances of dental implantology, ensuring that participants gain a well-rounded understanding of the subject.

The anticipation for these upcoming sessions reflects the commitment of SEGi University’s Faculty of Dentistry and MegaGen Implant Malaysia to deliver a course that not only imparts knowledge but also transforms dental professionals into adept practitioners in the dynamic field of dental implantology.
