On February 15th, SEGi University hosted a landmark discussion aimed at fostering collaboration in educational innovation and research. Datin Prof. Dr. Mariani Binti Md. Nor, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Languages, Psychology & Music (FoELPM) and Head of Research at the Centre of Excellence in Educational Innovation & Technology Leadership (CEEITL), led the dialogue alongside Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lim Boon Hooi and Dr. Ena Bhattacharyya.
The dialogue convened esteemed representatives from Peace Sports, The University of Suwon in Korea, Sook Myung Women’s University, and Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani Campus in Rajasthan, India. Notable participants included Prof. Lee Jong-Young, Prof. Jo Ki-Jung, Prof. Kim JinHwan, Mr. Lee Jang-Hyun, and Dr. Pintu Modak.
Central to the discussion was the exploration of potential collaborations in peace sports and research initiatives across higher education institutions. Key topics included collaborative research grant opportunities, student and staff exchange programs, and the overarching goal of advancing learning and innovation in the education landscape.
Datin Prof. Dr. Mariani Binti Md. Nor delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance of Peace Sports in contributing to Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. The visiting team from Peace Sports, represented by Prof. Lee Jong-Young of Suwon University, provided insights and justification on the role of peace sports in educational contexts.
Subsequent remarks were offered by Prof. Jo Ki-Jung of Suwon University and Prof. Kim Jin-Hwan of Sook Myung Women’s University, emphasizing the vast potential for collaboration and the shared commitment to leveraging sports as a catalyst for educational excellence.
