SEGi and Prof Dr Mohd Railli Suhailli nominated for Anak Sarawak Awards

SEGi University’s Sibu Clinical Campus and Prof Dr Mohd Railli Suhailli have been nominated for Anak Sarawak Awards in the Convention of Excellence and Anak Sarawak Outstanding Achievement Award categories, respectively.

The awards will be presented on May 12 at the Imperial Hotel Kuching, and Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will officiate the event.

SEGi University’s Sibu Clinical Campus was nominated for the Convention of Excellence Award for hosting the Malaysia International Congress on Tropical Medicine 2019 (BRITMA). The award recognises excellence in corporate meetings, corporate incentives, conventions, and exhibitions. The other nominees in this category are the 8th International Forum on Industrial Bioprocessing 2019 (Curtin University Malaysia) and the 13th International Conference on Child and Adolescent Psychopathology 2018 (University of Roehampton London).

Meanwhile, SEGi University’s Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences’ Dean, Prof Dr Mohd Railli Suhailli has been nominated for the Anak Sarawak Outstanding Achievement Award. This award recognises individuals who have contributed significantly to their field and community. Prof Dr Mohd Railli Suhailli is recognised for his contributions to medical research, specifically in infectious diseases, and his work in establishing SEGi University’s Sibu Clinical Campus.

The Anak Sarawak Awards is Malaysia’s first award for the events industry, organised by Business Event Sarawak (BESarawak). The awards feature five main categories and four sub-categories, with a total of nine awards to be presented on the night. This year’s awards theme is “Spirit, Inspiration and Heritage,” with a focus on the impact of heritage on the economy, sectoral, social, and environmental sectors.

The judging committee comprised members from international associations, including the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), as well as Malaysian associations such as the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA), Sarawak Tourism Federation (STF), MTCP, MBEC, and Malaysian Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers (MACEOS).

SEGi University’s Sibu Clinical Campus is part of SEGi University. It offers various medical programmes, including MBBS, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Technology and many more. The campus has state-of-the-art facilities and equipment to support medical education and research.

Prof Dr Mohd Railli Suhailli is a prominent medical researcher with expertise in infectious diseases, including dengue and malaria. He has published numerous articles in international medical journals and is actively involved in medical research and education. He is also a member of various medical associations and has received recognition for his contributions to medical research and education.
