SEGians shower orphans with love

A team of students of SEGi University’s School of IT organised a visit to Rumah Cahaya Kasih Kota Damansara, to pay it forward and to promote holistic development among the orphans. It is aligned with the University’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger.

Fifteen students from the School of IT visited twenty children and three teachers at the orphanage, bringing donations such as rice, cooking oil, and canned food as part of their commitment to addressing hunger. The gifts came generously from students and staff of SEGi, emphasising the wonderful collaborative effort in supporting the cause.

The team also provided a nutritious lunch for the children, and later engaged them in interactive storytelling activities, an initiative which aimed to foster creativity, imagination, and a love for learning among the children.

This visit left a lasting impact on both the students and the children at the orphanage. It fostered a sense of empathy, compassion, and social responsibility among the SEGi students, encouraging them to continue making a difference in their community. The experience provided the orphans with moments of joy, hope, and a belief in a brighter future. The initiative addressed immediate needs and planted the seeds for long-term growth and development in the lives of these young individuals.
