SEGi’s trio claims silver at International Innovation Design Expo 

SEGi showcases the brilliance of its individuals who have just notched a remarkable achievement on the world stage. The spotlight is on the exceptional trio from the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment & Information Technology (FoEBEIT): Ir. Dr. Shamini Janasekaran, Ir. Tai Vin Cent, and their promising PhD student, Walisijiang Tayier. Together, they’ve captured the spotlight with a coveted Silver Award at the globally renowned International Innovation Design Expo 2023. 

Organised by Universiti Teknikal Malaysia, the SEGi team surged ahead with their ingenious creation, “Stainless Steel Joint Using Microwave Brazing for Braces Application Towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 7.” 

This achievement isn’t just about trophies; it’s a testament to SEGi’s commitment to practical innovation that betters society. The innovation in question, set to redefine dental practices, holds a promise of boosting self-esteem through revolutionary orthodontic methods. SEGi’s success not only positions it as an academic powerhouse but also as a driver of transformation within the global innovation arena.
