Mr. Fakhrudin Shamsheer Barodawala, a distinguished lecturer from the Faculty of Optometry and Vision Sciences at SEGi University, played a pivotal role as a facilitator in a workshop on Scleral Lenses. This insightful workshop, conducted in collaboration with Dr. Daddi Fadel, a Clinical Scientist at the Center for Ocular Research and Education (CORE), University of Waterloo, Canada, was a significant highlight of the 3rd International Optometry Conference, ASCON 2023.
Organized by the Association of Schools and Colleges of India (ASCO-India) and hosted at Karnavati University in Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, the conference spanned from November 3rd to 5th, 2023. Drawing participation from over 1000 optometry students across 25 optometry schools and practicing optometrists, ASCON 2023 featured a comprehensive agenda, including 15 workshops, two days of plenary sessions, as well as poster and quiz competitions.
Mr. Fakhrudin’s expertise in the workshop on Scleral Lenses not only contributed to the academic discourse but also showcased SEGi’s commitment to excellence in the field of optometry. Moreover, he was invited to be part of the distinguished panel by Asira, a provider of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, further solidifying SEGi’s presence and influence in the international optometry community.
