MH Explorer Challenge: Gateway to Internship Excellence with MAS Airlines

SEGi University continues its steadfast dedication to bridging academia with industry through a groundbreaking partnership with Malaysia’s esteemed aviation giant, Malaysia Airlines (MAS). This innovative collaboration aims to cultivate exceptional talent within SEGi’s student body, offering a gateway to coveted internships with MAS Airlines.

Representing a significant milestone for the School of Communication and Creative Design (SoCCD), this alliance underscores SEGi’s commitment to providing students with unparalleled opportunities for professional growth.

Tailored specifically for third-year communication and creative design students, the Malaysia Airlines MH Explorer Challenge garnered enthusiastic participation from 30 students eager to showcase their talents and vie for internships with MAS Airlines. Over a rigorous three-week period, participants worked collaboratively in pairs, tackling assigned tasks designed to push the boundaries of creativity and storytelling.

The challenge demanded participants demonstrate their design prowess by crafting compelling logos accompanied by thoughtful justifications and narratives. Furthermore, students were tasked with conceptualizing innovative awareness campaigns targeting a demographic spanning from 13 to 26 years old, complete with captivating designs.

Upon completion, eight proposals were submitted to esteemed lecturers overseeing the competition, with the ultimate distinction of victory bestowed upon two standout individuals:

Misia Yong Zhi Hing – Communication Student

Eleanor Lee Hui Yee – Creative Design Student

This symbiotic partnership between SEGi University and MAS Airlines transcends mere collaboration; it serves as a beacon of inspiration for students, igniting a pursuit of excellence and deepening their understanding of the dynamic industry landscape. The MH Explorer Challenge epitomises the fusion of experiential learning with real-world industry demands, effectively narrowing the gap between academic theory and professional practice.
