What is Financial Aid?

Financial aid is a crucial support system designed to help individuals overcome financial barriers to education. It encompasses various programmes like PTPTN, PTPTNx’tra - tailored for school leavers with deferred payments and low interest, and EduFlex, a flexible scheme for working adults that covers fees upfront and allows repayment upon completion of studies. These aids enable students from diverse backgrounds to pursue their academic goals without financial strain.

Types of Financial Aids

PTPTN

The PTPTN Education Loan Scheme was set up to support students in their educational journey at local Higher Education Institutions (IPT). This initiative offers students the opportunity to fund their tuition fees and daily expenses while pursuing their studies. The PTPTN education loan option is available for students enrolled in local Public Higher Education Institutions (IPTA) and Private Higher Education Institutions (IPTS).

EPF Withdrawal

EPF (Employees Provident Fund) permits withdrawals from Account II for educational expenses. This includes tuition fees, outstanding loan amounts, hostel fees, accommodation expenses, and one-way flight tickets for first-year students studying abroad. Withdrawals are not limited to EPF members but also extend to their spouses and children.
